6 QUICK TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

VIDEO:TO IMPOVE YOUR 6 QUICK TIPS DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY • In this video, I'm going to go over some quick tips that can really quickly improve your photography.

HOW TO AVOID BLURRY IMAGES

VIDEO TUTORIAL PHOTOSHOP: HOW TO FIX BLURRY PICTURES • In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to fix blurry pictures in Photoshop using the Shake Reduction tool. This tool will help correct pictures that have camera shake. Camera shake is a shot where you’ve focused correctly but during the exposure the camera has moved and it’s normally caused by slow shutter speeds when hand holding a camera. Note - Photoshop will correct slight camera shake, it can’t perform miracles. If the shot has too much camera shake you’ll just have to delete it I’m afraid!

SHOOT MOODY HOW TO WOODLAND PHOTOS

VIDEO TUTORIAL: COMPOSITION IN WOODLAND PHOTOGRAPHY • Composition in photography has always been the most important part of the puzzle when I'm trying to create great photographs and I talk about it a lot when teaching. I've always loved the challenge of trying to make sense of complex woodland environments, appreciating the nuances and paying close attention to detail. I'm not saying I always get it right, but as with photographs in general, good composition can also be subjective. There are no rules. I'm not always looking for anything in particular, I just do whatever makes sense to me at the time. Sometimes the results stand the test of time and sometimes they don't - it's all part of continuous learning:)

VIDEO TUTORIAL: MOODY WINTER WOODLAND PHOTOGRAPHY • I first discovered this woodland in the spring of 2016 and I believe this is the first time I've experienced lovely misty conditions. I've enjoyed many days in this wood but it was great to see some dense mist for a change. The patchy snow was quite challenging and I do think it's caused a bit of a distraction on some of the photos. I'd say that there is one keeper from the set, so I'd class that as a success.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: WOODLAND PHOTOGRAPHY DON'T LOOK FOR TREES • "Don't look for trees" in woodland photography is perhaps an odd thing to say but it's simply to remind ourselves to perhaps look beyond the obvious subject and keep our mind open to anything that we are visually drawn to. Your photos will likely still include trees but the primary appeal that influences the composition might focus on something other than an object with a name, such as shape, color, texture and metaphors. In this video I revisit and walk through a photograph that was built around color, layers and the flow of colour and space. It was important for the tree to work together with these elements and provide a bold foundation and contrast in the composition.
