This series focuses on each U.S. state's most scenic places, including national parks, and the top 10 experiences travelers should seek out there. The guides give tips for making travel plans; taking the best scenic drives; finding the best nightlife spots, bars, breweries and distilleries, and food; and choosing the best accommodations, family and individual activities, and shopping venues, bars. Filled with itineraries, maps, and safety tips, these guides are for planners who want recommendations from insiders. The series does an outstanding job of detailing and paying tribute to the culture, people, and historical sites of the area. It also addresses the particular concerns of older travelers, those on a strict budget, people with disabilities, and more. The guides' full-color photos and maps enhance the reading experience. VERDICT Ideal for travelers who want to explore an entire state. Libraries should purchase at least the guide for their own state.
