Peck, a.k.a. Rainbowskinz, is known for his whimsical character makeup cosplays on social media. In this book, he offers step-by-step instructions for readers to create their own looks, and he shares tips and tricks from his own experiences with paints, powders, and other tools. He emphasizes that achieving these types of looks often requires a lot of practice. His book includes QR code links to YouTube tutorials for specific techniques related to certain fandoms; downloadable stencils are another bonus. He recognizes that many readers won't want to paint their torsos or their hair, but the book goes into great detail about doing so to satisfy readers who, at the very least, are curious about how this is done. VERDICT This is a solid introduction and primer for readers interested in using and wearing makeup for cosplay, clubbing, theater, social media posts, and much more. It's a great addition to costuming collections and a perfect pick for fandom displays.--Amanda Ray
