Relentless reporter Gabriel Moss latches onto the story and persistently follows a reluctant Erin in her search for the killer. As the pair digs deeper into the mystery, they fall for each other. They also hatch a plot to smoke out the killer, which puts Erin's life in peril. The story wobbles between true romance and killer thriller. While the plot and characters have some weak spots, the story has interesting twists and turns. Narrator January LaVoy provides a wide variety of voices, accents, and emotions. Abrams (who originally published this book in 2004, writing as Selena Montgomery) reads an author's note. VERDICT Recommended for fans of Abrams, romance, and stories set in New Orleans.--Joanna M.
