K-Gr 2-Sadie is very excited about returning to Camp Shalom for another year of fun. She enjoys all of the activities at camp, and she loves that everyone there is Jewish. This year will be extra special because her seven-year-old brother will be joining her. However, Ori is a bit apprehensive. He has a favorite stuffed toy, Nuggles, that he sleeps with every night, but he thinks he might need to leave Nuggles at home. What if the other kids at camp think he's a baby? Sadie reassures Ori that "it's okay to bring him," but Ori is not so sure. In the end, Nuggles is packed in the camp bag, and when Ori arrives at his cabin, he is surprised to find that "on each bunk bed he saw a well-loved stuffy." The mixed-media illustrations are charming and reinforce the gentle narrative. This slight but reassuring story about a young boy's first time at camp will find a place in synagogue and day school collections.-Martha Link Yesowitch, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, NC
