Hawkeye and his intrepid companions make a daring escape by canoe from the pursuing Huron Indians as their search for the missing women, Alice and Cora, take them to the wild country of Delaware. While Alice is freed, things don't go so smoothly for a distraught Cora. Magua must pow-wow with the tribal leader Hard Heart, with Cora's life in the balance. And with a name like Hard Heart, you can bet that negotiations won't be easy.
