Veterinary technician Carrie Kennersly, who owns the Barkery & Biscuits dog bakery and Icing on the Cake human bakery, has been holding lots of rescue animal adoption events at her store. She has also been solving a lot of murders lately, which sometimes puts her into danger. Carrie's relationship with veterinarian Dr. Reed Storme has been escalating, too, despite his telling her often to butt out of those murder investigations and stay safe. But when Reed is accused of killing a nasty a former veterinary colleague who is now trying to compete with him, he seems a lot more amenable to having successful amateur detective Carrie butt back in again. Can Carrie clear Reed—or does she care too much for a killer?
