Adjoa Andoh narrates this audiobook, which reveals how Christopher Robin and Pooh met their friends. Most listeners will know the characters and will likely have preconceived notions of how they should sound. Andoh's English-accented delivery keeps the spirit of the original Milne stories; however, her renditions of dialogue may not meet expectations. Eeyore speaks glumly in a slow, hoarse voice that rings true. Tigger is high energy but sounds more frantic than frolicking. Pooh's speaking voice is slow and thoughtful but lacking in tenderness, yet his humming songs are amusing. Andoh's Piglet is squeaky and shrill, which is apropos for a piglet but strident. Overall, the production is pleasant; stand-alone chapters make good listening sessions for bedtime or car rides. L.T. © AudioFile 2023, Portland, Maine
