A delightful small-town romance between a daycare teacher and single dad who must overcome their differences to help plan the ultimate wedding.
They’ve driven each other crazy for years, but were they fighting each other—or the chemistry between them?
As the youngest in her loving, overprotective family, Savannah Lowe has always gone with the flow instead of going out on a limb…until now. Her new job running a preschool requires her to be all in. If only the father of one of her students wasn’t her brother’s incredibly infuriating, impossibly attractive best friend. Savannah has no clue what she ever did to make him dislike her, and now they’re stuck spending even more time together planning her brother’s wedding.
Single father Noah Adams has his hands full between his job as a paramedic and caring for his young daughter. The last thing he needs is a complication like Savannah in his life—a girl he remembers being constantly pampered by her family. But the more he gets to know her, the more he sees how kind and compassionate she really is. Now their long-ignored, off-the-charts chemistry has them on a collision course…with each other.

Mills returns to Heart’s Hope Bay, Ore. (first visited in A House on Sunshine Corner), for a cheerful second-chance romance. Savannah Lowe, the baby of her large family, has always been a bit free-spirited, having tried a vast variety of jobs before deciding to become a preschool teacher. Serious Noah Adams is her polar opposite, an EMT and single father struggling to raise his daughter after his ex-wife relocates. Savannah thinks Noah’s too critical and overbearing, while Noah believes Savannah’s lazy and allows her family to spoil her. But Savannah’s oldest brother, Caleb, is Noah’s best friend, and when he turns to them for help planning his wedding, they hesitantly agree to work together. Collaboration, however, leads them to discover all the ways they’ve misjudged one another, and they embark on a casual relationship, sparking some steamy scenes that belie the not-at-all casual intensity of their connection. But after things go wrong with the wedding, both must work through their personal issues before they can commit to each other. Mills captures the small-town atmosphere beautifully, populating it with down-to-earth characters who are easy to care for. This uplifting tale will leave readers eager to return to Heart’s Hope Bay. Agent: Emily Sylvan Kim, Prospect Agency.

Savannah's new role running her friend's preschool program is daunting, but she does enjoy it. She's tried many different hobbies and projects, but this may be what she was meant to do. Noah has known Savannah all their lives and he is best friends with her brother, Caleb. Now Noah's daughter is in her class, and while he may agree with Savannah's family that she is flighty, he can see that his daughter loves her, and he needs help. He's too busy as an EMT to manage as a single dad after his ex-wife left the state for another job. When Caleb asks Noah and Savannah to plan his wedding, they have to spend lots of time together. When they stop fighting as they've always done, they finally give in to their strong attraction. Noah sees how capable Savannah is, and she helps him open his heart again. Mills makes good use of the best-friend's-sister and enemies-to-lovers tropes and creates delightful chemistry and fun in this engaging contemporary small-town romance.
