Grades 2-5 Kirkness uses her own experience teaching yoga, along with clinical and psychological approaches, to provide helpful coping techniques for elementary-age children and their parents or caregivers on how the children can manage their worries and fears. Using a flowchart format, the book asks yes-or-no questions to help children identify the cause of their worry as it relates to school, people, home, or something else, and provides an appropriate solution for each question asked, such as "Are you feeling embarrassed by something?" Frequent notes to parents describe why a particular coping strategy is recommended and define helpful terms. Parents are encouraged to read this along with their children and to participate in included meditative exercises with their kids. Tips for parents, such as calming rituals, affirmations, and helpful resources are found at the end of the book. Attractive page design and bright, colorful graphics make this a useful resource for elementary-age children and their families.
