      Grades K-3 The Little People, Big Dreams series (9 new titles) is well known for its kid-friendly, picture-book biographies. This latest batch introduces youngsters to admirable figures from the past and present with its trademark endearing illustrations and upbeat tone. Occasional use of antiquated language--picture house instead of movie theater, for example--and a few instances of awkwardly translated text (this series hails from Spain) may cause young readers to stumble, but the compelling stories will keep them moving forward.
