This book, part 3 of the Keri series, sees Keri and Mereana going with family to a holiday town beside a beach. There is obviously plenty to keep the girls occupied. Then they meet a family moving in along the road. A big, raucous, fun family, with brothers the same age as the girls. One of the boys, Jordan, is deaf and the girls are intriged to learn more about his impairment and how to do sign language.
Jordan is very able, and Sando is jealous of his abilities, as well as the amount of attention he receives due to his disabilities. He is resentful and often angry. But when Jordan is discovered by a gang of burglars who have been taking items from the holiday makers in the town, the others have to find a way to save him.
