Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of the world–famous detective Fenton Hardy, tackle their first case as budding detectives.

Although still in high school, the boys experience exciting chases, hold ups, robberies, clues, and false accusations. They winnow through mounds of evidence and conflicting stories, get some assistance from their famous father, and search and climb till they find the answer to the mystery of the Tower Treasure.

In 1927, the first three Hardy Boys books were published, and they entered the public domain on January 1, 2023. I took the opportunity to record all three books and will be releasing the unabridged recordings this year. I can't wait for you to share them with your kids like I did with mine so many years ago.

Come on, boys. I found a swell clue! The Hardy Boys emerge from a 1927 time capsule, but amazingly, are unscathed. These young detectives--favorites to generations of young readers--burst into the twenty-first century, chasing a friend's stolen jalopy, uncovering a thief's disguise, digging in the garden of the Tower mansion. Bill Irwin gives a terrific performance in this first in a series of audiobooks of the boys' mystery adventures. Irwin is earnest, honest and anxious to please, yet never overplays the adventures. He engages listeners as the suspense unfolds and stays totally committed to the story. Listeners do, too. For adults listeners, here's a campy mystery to delight in. For youngsters, Irwin is likely to convert a new generation to the Hardy Boys. R.F.W. Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine
