Toddler-PreS-Introducing new foods to a skeptical child, an issue faced by most every parent, is joyously tackled in this bilingual board book. Mum and Mama are cooking up a new meal and prepping their toddler for this very green dish. The child wants buttered bread, not these foods that are too small and too green. Told in Spanish featuring English rhyming text below, the story follows as the fussy tot joins in making the meal and in the end tries and enjoys the too green soup. Vibrant illustrations, including an adorable family cat, capture expressions perfectly. VERDICT Trying new foods is not as scary when you are included in the cooking process! This book is a welcome addition to any library, especially those seeking to expand bilingual shelves.-Cassie Veselovsky
